For the next 5 heroic levels I wanted to know what kind of campaign you would like to play.
As you know, when I first started the campaign everyone voted for a wilderness style campaign and so I dropped you all in Darkwood forest.
With new players in the mix and much of the story lost to them I thought it might be a good idea to entertain moving the campaign in another direction.
I would like to know what kind of campaign you're looking for in terms of story, location/setting, and adventuring style?
Here are just a few things we could try. If you have more ideas let me know.
More Forest
Cities Large and small
Castles & Keeps
On the Sea
Swamp
Travel - a long distance journey.
Dungeon Crawls - maybe even something as large as the ToEE.
Another Plane.
Political Intrigue
Old School Modules (1e or 2e)
New 4e Modules
Story Based - Murder / Mystery
Horror Themed - a foray into Ravenloft - exploring it's Dragonlance connections.
I really don't want the campaign to feel like it's railroading you from this point forward. My impression after reading the journal is that I've kept you all on a short leash with the story. Usually, I like to play more of sand box style of game where the players do what they want, but online that's a little bit hard to do. Hopefully, I've given you all enough options to keep it interesting.
At the moment, there are a few lose ends to tie up with the story and depending on what happens in the tower the story could take any number of directions. The Great Druid Leander will most likely ask you to help find allies (raise an army) to defeat the Dark Tide (the Dragon Army in Thenol). This could lead the party any direction they choose. The party might, for example, decide to enlist the aid of the Bakali from blackwater glade or even ask the gnomes of the Steamwall mountains for help. I think there should be many options available to the party going forward, but I just want your take on it all.
